How It Works
The gateway sits between African public procurement portals and Omani suppliers. Tenders come in through an API, are published here in a consistent format, and the full tender file is released to registered suppliers.
1. Tenders are collected automatically
Contract notices are received from African government procurement portals and development-partner procurement systems through the gateway’s tender API. Each notice is normalised into a single format so that a Kenyan energy tender and a Moroccan water tender are described the same way, in the same fields, regardless of how the source portal published them.
New and amended notices are picked up on a rolling schedule, so what a supplier sees here reflects what the buyer has published.
2. The headline information is public
Anyone can browse the tender list without an account and can see the country, contracting authority, sector, estimated value, publication date and submission deadline of every opportunity. That is deliberate: a supplier should be able to judge relevance before being asked to register.
3. The full tender file is for registered suppliers
The moment a visitor opens a tender, the gateway checks whether they are signed in. If they are not, they see the public summary and an invitation to register or sign in. Once signed in, the same page shows:
- The official tender reference number and procurement method
- The complete scope of works and technical requirements
- Eligibility, bid security and qualification criteria
- The named buyer contact, address and submission channel
- Downloadable tender documents, drawings and schedules
4. Suppliers are matched to their sectors
During registration each supplier declares the sectors they serve. The gateway matches new tenders to those sectors and surfaces them on the supplier’s dashboard, so a company does not have to check the site daily to stay informed.
5. The Ministry keeps oversight
Administrators can see registered suppliers, monitor which tenders are drawing interest, and configure the tender API connection without developer involvement. Supplier verification, alert emails and reporting are part of the full platform build that follows this prototype.
