About the Gateway
The gateway exists to make African public procurement legible and reachable for Omani suppliers, and to give African contracting authorities access to a wider, better-qualified pool of bidders.
The opportunity
African governments and state-owned utilities tender billions of dollars of goods, works and services every year: power generation and transmission, water treatment and distribution, hospitals and medical supplies, roads and ports, digital public infrastructure, agriculture and education. Much of this is published under international competitive bidding rules and is open to foreign suppliers.
In practice, those notices are scattered across dozens of national portals, in several languages, in inconsistent formats. A capable Omani supplier may never learn that a relevant tender existed until after it closed.
What the gateway does
It consolidates those notices into one place, in one format, in English, and puts them in front of registered Omani suppliers. It removes the discovery problem, and then it removes the access problem by delivering the complete tender file rather than a headline.
Who it serves
- Omani suppliers – manufacturers, contractors, traders and service providers seeking export markets.
- African contracting authorities – who benefit from more competitive, better-qualified bidding.
- The Ministry – with visibility of which markets and sectors Omani businesses are engaging with.
Status of this site
This is a working prototype prepared for Ministry review. The user journey, the tender presentation and the access model are real and functional. The tender records currently shown are illustrative and are served through the same integration layer that will carry the live API feed, so switching to live data is a configuration change rather than a rebuild.
